Decks built to last 25+ years

A deck is an outdoor-lifestyle investment that has to survive 20 Wisconsin winters. The cheapest option — pressure-treated lumber — lasts 10–15 years with regular sealing. Composite lasts 25+ years with no maintenance and a manufacturer structural warranty.

Altrix works with any leading composite board manufacturer. We help you choose the right product line for your budget and aesthetic, and our install qualifies for the full manufacturer warranty available with that product.

What we build

  • Composite decks (standard and premium) — the most durable option
  • Cedar and pressure-treated decks — for those who want real wood
  • Screened porches — enclosed porches with insect screening
  • Multi-level decks — for sloped or uneven lots
  • Pergolas and roof structures — for shade and rain coverage
  • Pool decks — non-slip composite with waterproofing
  • Outdoor kitchens on the deck — gas line, electrical, weather-resistant cabinetry

Railing options

Standard pine wood railing — $12/lin ft. The classic choice and a fit for most decks.

Aluminum railing — $48/lin ft. Low-maintenance, slim profile, powder-coated finish. Holds up to Wisconsin winters with no warping or rot.

Cable railing — $55/lin ft. Modern look, doesn't block the view, ideal for decks with a lake or wooded outlook.

Glass panel railing — $85/lin ft. The premium option. Tempered glass panels — maximum view, fully modern look.

Build timeline

Standard 200–300 sq ft deck: 2–3 weeks from permit to final walkthrough.

Large or multi-level 400–600 sq ft deck: 3–5 weeks.

Premium project (pergola, outdoor kitchen, lighting): 5–8 weeks.

Seasonal note: in Wisconsin, concrete footings require unfrozen ground. The best build window is April through October. We can take winter bookings for projects where ground screws work in place of concrete piers.
