A bathroom remodel isn't just swapping tile and fixtures. It's waterproofing, ventilation, electrical, fixture sizing, and spatial planning. Get any one of those wrong, and in two years you have leaks behind the tile, mold, or damaged wiring.

Altrix treats every bathroom as an engineering project. We do full Schluter-KERDI waterproofing, upgrade ventilation, plan lighting with our electrician, and specify Kohler fixtures with manufacturer warranty backing.

What a full remodel includes

• Demo — full tear-out down to studs
• Plumbing rough-in — new plumbing, relocating lines as needed
• Electrical rough-in — GFCI circuits, dedicated lighting circuits, vent fan, heated floor
• Insulation + drywall — insulation and moisture-resistant drywall
• Schluter-KERDI waterproofing — premium wet-area waterproofing
• Heated floor (optional) — Schluter DITRA-HEAT or Warmboard
• Tile work — floor, shower walls, niches, accent walls
• Fixtures installation — toilet, vanity, sink, faucets, shower system
• Trim + paint + lighting — final finishes
• Final inspection + walkthrough

Walk-in shower vs. tub: which to choose

Walk-in shower — the modern standard for a master bathroom. Curbless, frameless glass, large-format tile (12x24 or 24x48), thermostatic mixer. Safer for older homeowners, easier to clean, contemporary look. We recommend walk-in for the primary bathroom in about 80% of cases.

Freestanding tub — the status piece of a luxury bathroom. A standalone tub (often from Kohler or Victoria + Albert) in the middle of the room or by a window. Not always practical for daily use, but the ambiance is unmatched.

Tub + shower combo — a practical choice for a guest bathroom or families with small children. The current approach: a framed glass shower enclosure over the tub.

How long it takes

Standard master bathroom (60–80 sq ft): 3–5 weeks from demo to final inspection.

Premium master bathroom with structural changes: 6–10 weeks.

Guest / powder bathroom: 2–3 weeks.

We give you a weekly schedule and hold to it. Delays happen only on material backorders — in which case we warn you in advance and offer alternatives.
